My Health Record
Implementing My Health Record in your healthcare organisation
My Health Record is a secure online summary of a patient’s key health information, accessible across Australia. Everyone can choose to have a record.
As a physician, you can access and upload information to a patient’s record using conformant clinical information systems (CIS), including:
- medical history
- diagnoses
- discharge summaries
- medications (including name, dose and purpose)
- prescription and dispensing records
- pathology and imaging reports

Secure messaging
As a healthcare provider, you need secure, efficient ways to share clinical information. Secure messaging provides a fast, reliable alternative to paper-based systems that saves time, maintains continuity of care, and safeguards patient privacy.

Standards
Digital health standards form the foundation of interoperability and connected care. While often technical, these standards guide the processes, data structures, and methods built into healthcare technology. They're informed by clinical practice and designed to ensure safety and consistency across the entire health and care system.

Electronic prescribing
Electronic prescriptions provide a safe, secure and efficient supply of medicines to Australians – in person via their doctor or telehealth consultation – sent directly to the patient’s mobile phone or email.
Patients can choose either a digital or paper prescription, but not both.
